Description Support of PMDP Marine Debris programs in the Hawaiian Islands
Key
Responsibilities:

Lead all Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, 3-D
printing, prototype fabrication, and engineering for research and development of innovative
cutting and lifting technologies for marine debris cleanups.
Procure commercially available materials and supplies for testing and evaluating the effectiveness
of detecting, cutting, and lifting large derelict fishing nets or DFG.
Research, adapt, and develop utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and diver propulsion
vehicles (DPVs) to expedite the detection of DFG.
Explore and test UAV sensors for detecting in-water and shoreline DFG.
Test DPVs to enhance diver surveys for DFG.
Conduct research and development campaigns for creating effective cutting tools.
Rigorously field test and evaluate completed cutting tool designs.
Develop optimized manual or electric tools for tensioning and cutting large (greater than 1-meter
diameter) bundles of the net, underwater and onshore.
Design an inflatable lifting device capable of raising large DFG nets (up to 4,000 pounds) and
packaging them for towing by small boats through shallow reef environments.
Fabricate and field test flotation and towing device prototypes.
Engineer mechanical advantage lifting apparatus suitable for use on inflatable boats to enhance
DFG removal capabilities.
Fabricate and field test lifting apparatus prototypes.
Design and construct a heavy-duty extraction platform for lifting DFG payloads (greater than 4,000
pounds) from water and shorelines.
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by your supervisor(s) and manager.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
