POSITION
Summary: Works as a member of the team, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, and is responsible for a variety of non-professional functions involving both direct and indirect patient care. Fosters patient participation in the program milieu and offers support to patients in coping with an immediate situation and helps them move toward a goal of stabilization.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Counselor - High school graduate or equivalent. Associates Degree or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology or related field is highly desirable.
MINIMUM FIELD-OF-EXPERTISE: One-year current experience in the psychiatric inpatient setting or two years of current experience in psychiatric sub-acute patient care. Applicants can be credited with 6 months of sub-acute patient care experience for every two years of college in psychology or a related field. Good organizational skills. Basic computer knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Windows application.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: BLS - Heartsaver biennially. CPMR certification maintained.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
